Product Manager, Google Cloud

Product management for Firebase and Google Cloud's developer tools, focused on how developers find the platform, adopt it, and grow on it. The work spans go-to-market strategy, enterprise engagement, and the partner ecosystem built on top of those tools. Most of the interesting problems are friction problems — finding where the path from prototype to production breaks down, and making the case for fixing it.

Senior Product Manager

Product lead for an industrial orchestration platform running closed-loop control across connected industrial assets, with models tuning equipment setpoints on their own — agentic operations before the term existed. Much of it was integration work: getting MES, ERP, and SCADA systems to cooperate without forcing anyone to migrate. Small enough that the job was whatever needed doing that week, which turned out to be the fastest way to learn the craft.

Data Science Manager

Led an interdisciplinary team of engineers, data scientists, and geologists responsible for technical oversight of oil and gas operations in California, and brought machine learning into audit and compliance workflows that had been entirely manual. Authored the aquifer exemption for the Cymric field, working closely with Chevron to show the formation could take injection without endangering nearby drinking water. An exemption is a one-way door: it rules that water out as a drinking source permanently, so the case has to hold up.

Operations Engineer

Engineered and executed well intervention projects across the Huntington Beach and Wilmington fields, including offshore work from Platform Eva and out on Island Chaffee — one of four artificial islands in San Pedro Bay, named for fallen astronauts and landscaped to disguise the drilling rigs. Started under Occidental Petroleum (Oxy) and stayed with the business through its 2014 spin-off into CRC.

Process Engineer

Worked on albumin production at Baxter's Glendale plant — one of the largest plasma-fractionation sites in the world — where proteins are separated from donated blood plasma by cold-ethanol fractionation, batch chemistry run cold and at scale. Gowning into a bunny suit to reach the floor made the regulatory weight concrete: anything that contacts product is a change that has to be justified before it is made. Modeling a process in a classroom is one thing; holding one at steady state is another.

Intern

QA/QC for Shiner beer production, sampling batches through fermentation and packaging. Spoetzl has brewed in Shiner, Texas since 1909 — started by German and Czech farming settlers, then bought in 1915 by a Bavarian brewmaster who arrived carrying his family's recipe. It's now one of the largest independent brewers in the country, still running that old-world heritage against distinctly American experiments.
